She holds a DUT in Urban Management, a Bachelor's degree in Geography, and a Research Master's degree in Geography, for which her field of study was the Island of Socotra in Yemen.

Valérie Trouslard embarks on a career in leatherworking as a self-taught autodidact. She creates the Faméthic brand, an ethical leather goods manufacturer. Its name is an acronym: artisanal ethical leather goods factory.
“ For me, the link between geography and leatherworking is the craft of an art artisan, guarantor of cultural heritage: enhancing a natural material within the framework of a local business. ”
She sets up in a shared workshop-boutique with a glass artisan in the Belle de Mai district of Marseille.

2015 - 2018
She strikes out on her own and sets up her business in the Saint Charles station district in Marseille. She begins hosting vocational trainees, running DIY workshops, and giving talks in public spaces to share her passion.
In 2017, she receives the Artisan d'Art label.

2019
Faméthic’s workshop-boutique is now located in the center of Marseille, at 2 rue Grignan, the city’s luxury leather goods street.
As part of a gradual rebranding, Faméthic’s logo and monogram have been given a more modern, universal look.
Valérie hires her first employee, a self-taught artisan like herself, whom she will train in the brand’s manufacturing techniques.

2022
Faméthic donates 1% of its revenue to the Survival International NGO.
Valérie is becoming a lecturer at the EIML School of Luxury Marketing and Retail.
Since 2015, Faméthic has trained more than twenty interns and organized hundreds of DIY workshops for children and adults.

2024
Valérie has been awarded the title of Master Artisan of Art by the Chamber of Trades and Crafts.
The highest distinction in the field of craftsmanship attesting to the quality of her expertise, but also to her commitment to the promotion of craftsmanship.

Faméthic was awarded the "Made in Marseille" label during the label's inaugural promotion, a recognition from the city where the brand was born and grew.
Faméthic has also been selected to be part of the French delegation at the Art of Living à la Française exhibition in Tokyo in June 2025.

2026
The Faméthic production workshop is moving to Valence in the Drôme, bringing it closer to its suppliers and an economic area with a long history of leatherworking.
Faméthic is a member of the Atelier d'Art de France, the trade union for craft professionals.
