Designed to accompany your everyday life without compromise, the Centaurée combines ample storage capacity with timeless design, made to last and adapt to any situation.
The model
Created in 2020, the Centaurée was born from the success of the Petite Centaurée. Many customers appreciated its style but wanted a larger format to accompany them in their daily lives. I therefore retained the identity of the original model while rethinking its proportions to offer a larger format, without losing what made the original model unique: a timeless design, intended to accompany everyday life for many years.
The Centaurée retains the features that made the original model a success: soft curves, a timeless silhouette, and a completely concealed closure. Its flap opens easily with one hand, closes almost naturally, and effectively protects the contents of the bag. This simple operation, accompanied by the light characteristic sound of the closure as it clicks into place, adds to the pleasure of everyday use.
As with the Petite Centaurée, the top of the bag is deliberately tapered to create a subtle shoulder pad effect. This design choice protects the sides of the opening, conceals the shoulder strap attachments, and limits water ingress or items falling out when the bag is open. Almost invisible details that permanently improve comfort of use.
Thanks to its larger format, the Centaurée easily accommodates a busy day. It effortlessly holds a water bottle, a book, a wallet, a pouch, or the essentials of family life. It is a bag designed to be as pleasant to use as it is to look at, capable of accompanying everyday life for many years.

Material
This model is crafted from full-grain calfskin leather from the Italian artisan tannery Virgilio Conceria Artigliana, which specializes in vegetable tanning.
Dyed through with natural pigments, this leather develops a deep patina over the years that gives it all its personality. Handling, light, and time gradually reveal its richness and make each bag unique.

Manufacturing
Each Faméthic bag is handmade in my workshop from carefully selected full-grain leathers.
Each step - from cutting to assembly, including sewing - is carried out with precision, one step at a time to guarantee the quality, strength, and durability of each piece.

Made-to-order manufacturing process
This model is made especially for you after your order is validated.
Manufacturing begins in my workshop using the leather and color you have selected. This approach allows each piece to be made at the workshop's pace, without mass production, while offering a wide choice of leathers, colors, and certain customization options.
The average manufacturing time is approximately three weeks. It may vary slightly depending on the time of year, the availability of certain leathers, and the workshop's activity.

Care
The full-grain leather selected for this model is designed to develop a beautiful patina over the years. Handling, light, and signs of use naturally contribute to its evolution and make each bag unique.
This leather requires little maintenance. Occasional conditioning with a suitable balm is generally enough to preserve its suppleness and accompany its natural aging.

Leather and care:
We collaborate with the Italian tannery Virgilio Conceria Artigliana, which specializes in ecological vegetable tanning.
It is full-grain calfskin (with the epidermis) of French, Swiss, or Norwegian origin. More specifically, from the part of the animal's neck called the collar. It is the part of the skin that contains the most collagen, a protein that gives leather its suppleness and strength. It is also a part of the skin that gathers physical and natural characteristics inherent to the skin: folds or wrinkles.
This leather is dyed through with natural pigments. A thin layer of natural resin is applied to the epidermis to improve its patina.
This tanning is specially designed to achieve a pronounced patina over time. Rubbing and handling will polish the leather, which will shine more and more over time. Marks and traces of use will also remain present and contribute to the patina that gives this premium leather its nobility.
The patina protecting your leather, in absolute terms, is a tanning that requires little maintenance. However, like all skins, it needs to be very lightly conditioned 1 time per month for 4 months, then 2 times a year (use the leather care balm provided). Unpleasant marks, stains, or stuck materials can be removed with the natural rubber crepe that is used like an eraser.
---
In our Marseille workshop, we have chosen to work exclusively with leather called "full-grain" for all our designs. Unlike leather crust taken from the dermis, full-grain leather is leather coming from the epidermis, the strongest part of the skin, reflecting the life of the animal.
Thus, certain "flaws" will be visible such as wrinkles, moles, stretch marks, scars, scratches, punctures, etc. These flaws are normal. Most of the time, these marks are only surface aesthetic flaws and do not alter the strength of the leather in any way. Since leather itself is a waste product of the livestock activity, and for ecological reasons, we deliberately work with skins having some of these marks. Likewise, to limit waste during cutting, we keep certain natural flaws when they are purely aesthetic.
Colors and patina:
As you have understood, this leather acquires a significant patina over time. This patina is the appearance the leather will keep for years, for the entire life of the product that we hope will be very long.
- Indigo blue will have a navy blue patina
- Turmeric yellow will have a saffron yellow patina
- Red will have a burgundy patina
- Camel will have a cognac patina
- Cognac will have a tan patina
- Ebony will have an ebony patina
- Black will have a black patina
