Leather and care:
We work with the Italian tannery Virgilio Conceria Artigliana , which specialises in eco-friendly vegetable tanning .
This is full-grain cowhide (with the epidermis) of French, Swiss or Norwegian origin. More specifically, it comes from the animal's neck area, known as the collar . This part of the skin contains the most collagen, the protein that gives leather its suppleness and strength. It also retains the natural physical characteristics of the skin: creases or wrinkles.
This leather is dyed through and through with natural pigments. A thin layer of natural resin is applied to the epidermis to enhance its patina.
This tanning process is specially designed to develop a pronounced patina over time. Friction and handling will polish the leather, making it shine more and more with time. Marks and traces of use will also be preserved, contributing to the patina that gives this premium leather its nobility.
The patina protects the leather; overall, this is a tanning that requires little maintenance. However, like all leather, it should be very lightly nourished once a month for 4 months, then twice a year (use the leather care balm provided). Unwanted marks, stains or stuck-on substances can be removed with the natural rubber crepe, which can be used like an eraser.

In our Marseille workshop, we have chosen to work exclusively with full-grain leather for all our designs. Unlike split leather taken from the dermis, full-grain leather comes from the epidermis, the strongest part of the skin, which reflects the animal's life.
Certain "imperfections" will therefore be visible, such as wrinkles, moles, stretch marks, scars, scratches, punctures, etc. Most of the time, these are merely surface imperfections and do not affect the leather's strength. As leather itself is a byproduct of livestock farming, and out of consideration for the environment, we deliberately work with hides that bear some of these marks. Similarly, to reduce waste during cutting, we retain certain natural imperfections when they are purely aesthetic.
Colours and patina:
As you can see, this leather develops a significant patina over time. This patina is the appearance the leather will retain for years, throughout the product's entire lifespan, which we hope will be very long.
- Indigo blue will develop a navy blue patina
- Yellow turmeric will develop a saffron yellow patina
- Red will develop a burgundy patina
- Camel will develop a cognac patina
- Cognac will develop a tan patina
- Ebony will develop an ebony patina
- Black will develop a black patina
