The Mimosa

The Mimosa is a small crossbody bag with understated charm, appreciated for its compact size, surprising capacity, and ease of use. 

The model

Created in 2016, the Mimosa was born from a technical experiment. Originally, it was not a bag, but a small coin purse designed to test a new leather construction. Its success quickly led to the creation of a clutch. Then, very quickly, customers asked me to create a crossbody version of the model. This is how the Mimosa was born, becoming one of Faméthic's iconic pieces since then.  

Since its creation, its design has changed very little. A few minor adjustments have been made over the years, but its original balance has remained intact. 

The Mimosa is designed for those looking for a discreet, lightweight bag that is comfortable to wear every day. Its compact size gives the impression of a small clutch, while its crossbody strap and briefcase-style closure allow you to keep your hands free without compromising comfort or security. 

Despite its compact size, the Mimosa offers a surprising capacity. It can hold a companion wallet, a phone, keys, etc., as well as a small 33 cl bottle of water. This is one of the qualities its users appreciate most: a small bag that remains surprisingly spacious without losing its shape.

• External dimensions: 22 cm wide, 15 cm high, 9 cm deep at the base (2 cm at the opening)

• 2.5 cm wide strap, adjustable from approximately 70 cm to 145 cm with a sliding buckle.

Material

This model is crafted from full-grain calfskin sourced from the Italian artisan tannery Virgilio Conceria Artigliana, which specializes in vegetable tanning. 

Dyed through with natural pigments, this leather develops a deep patina over the years that gives it all its personality. Handling, light, and time gradually reveal its richness and make each bag unique.

Production

Each Faméthic bag is handmade in my workshop using carefully selected full-grain leathers.

Each step—from cutting to assembly, including sewing—is carried out with precision, one step at a time, to ensure the quality, strength, and durability of each piece.

Made-to-order production process

This model is made especially for you after your order is confirmed. 

Production begins in my workshop using the leather and color you have selected. This approach allows each piece to be made at the workshop's pace, without mass production, while offering a wide choice of leathers, colors, and certain customization options. 

The average production time is approximately three weeks. It may vary slightly depending on the time of year, the availability of certain leathers, and the workshop's workload.

Care

The full-grain leather selected for this model is designed to develop a beautiful patina over the years. Handling, light, and signs of wear naturally contribute to its evolution and make each bag unique. 

This leather requires little maintenance. Occasional conditioning with a suitable balm is generally enough to preserve its suppleness and support its natural aging.

Usage tips

To preserve the briefcase-style closure over time, it is recommended not to overload the bag. Although the leather naturally becomes more supple over time, it is best to avoid forcing the closure when the bag is too full.
