The model

Some people always carry a little more than the essentials. A water bottle, a notebook, a sweater, a few groceries on the way home from work, or the children's belongings for the day. The Ophrys was designed to accompany this everyday life.

Created in 2015, it is one of Faméthic's iconic models. Its design has changed very little over the years: improvements have mainly focused on functional details, finishes, and carrying comfort. A rare stability that testifies to the model's relevance and its ability to meet the needs of its users over time.

Its square base allows it to offer a large storage capacity while maintaining a flexible and balanced silhouette. Its slightly tapered shape towards the opening naturally limits the risk of falling while maintaining quick and easy access to its contents.

Handmade from full-grain leather, the Ophrys prioritizes ease of use, lightness, and comfort rather than a multiplication of compartments or complex closure systems.

• External dimensions: 37 cm wide at the top when closed, 26 cm high, square base of 24 cm by 24 cm.
• Internal dimensions: square opening 21 cm wide, square base 22.5 cm per side.

• 3 cm wide double strap, 60 cm long. 
• Closure with snap fasteners hidden in the strap fixings.

Material:

Bullhide leather tanned by one of the last independent tanneries in France, the Tannerie Rémy Carriat located in Espelette. With a waterproof nubuck finish, a specialty of the tannery, this leather is soft and rough to the touch.

Manufacturing: 

Each Faméthic bag is handmade in my workshop from carefully selected full-grain leathers.

The different manufacturing steps - cutting, preparation, assembly, and saddle stitching - are carried out one by one to guarantee the quality, strength, and durability of each piece.

This artisanal approach also allows the models to evolve over time, based on the experience gained in the workshop and the feedback gathered from customers.
