Leather and care:
We collaborate with the Italian tannery Virgilio Conceria Artigliana, specializing in eco-friendly vegetable tanning.
It is full-grain cowhide (with the epidermis) of French, Swiss, or Norwegian origin. More specifically, it comes from the part of the animal's neck called the nape. This is the part of the skin that contains the most collagen, the protein that gives leather its suppleness and strength. It is also a part of the skin that retains physical and natural characteristics inherent to the skin: folds or wrinkles.
This leather is dyed throughwith natural pigments. A thin layer of natural resin is applied to the epidermis to enhance its patina.
This tanning process is specially designed to achieve a pronounced patinaover time. Friction and handling will polish the leather, which will shine more and more over time. Marks and traces of use will also be preserved and contribute to the patina that gives this premium leather its nobility.
The patina protects your leather; ultimately, it is a tanning that requires little maintenance. However, like all skins, it needs to be lightly nourished once a month for 4 months, then twice a year(use the leather care balm provided). Unwanted marks, stains, or stuck-on materials can be removed with the natural rubber crepe, which is used like an eraser.

In our workshop, we have chosen to work exclusively with leather called "full-grain" for all our designs. Unlike leather split taken from the dermis, full-grain leather comes from the epidermis, the strongest part of the skin, reflecting the animal's life.
Thus, certain "flaws" will be visible, such as wrinkles, moles, stretch marks, scars, scratches, punctures, etc. Most of the time, these marks are merely surface aesthetic flaws and do not impair the leather's strength. Since leather itself is a waste product of farming activity, and for ecological reasons, we deliberately work with skins that have some of these marks. Likewise, to limit waste during cutting, we retain certain natural flaws when they are purely aesthetic.
Colors and patinas:
As you have understood, this leather develops a significant patina over time. This patina is the appearance the leather will retainfor years, throughout the entire life of the product, which we hope will be very long.
- Indigo blue will develop a navy blue patina
- Yellow turmeric will develop a saffron yellow patina
- Red will develop a burgundy patina
- Camel will have a cognac patina
- Cognac will have a tan patina
- Ebony will have an ebony patina
- Black will have a black patina
