Leather and care:
The Marseille H2O collection is made from full-grain calfskin sourced from production surpluses at Tannerie Roux, located in the Drôme near Romans and now part of the LVMH Group.
This leather has a pronounced grain and is supple yet thick. It is dense, with a substantial, textured feel. Exceptionally high quality, it develops an elegant patina gradually.
Despite its very natural finish and light color, this calfskin is easy to care for.
To protect your leather, enhance its patina and preserve the leather’s strength, polish it once a month for 4 months using the leather care balm provided by Faméthic. Take a soft cotton cloth and apply a small amount of balm. Fold the cloth in half and rub the two sides together to spread the balm as evenly as possible over the cloth.
Then apply the balm-covered cloth to the leather using gentle circular motions. You can pay particular attention to the edges of the leather to help them develop a patina more quickly.
To clean your leather, use a damp microfiber cloth and a little Marseille soap. Lather the soap on the cloth before gently wiping the leather in circular motions. Let the leather dry, then polish it the following day.
Then rinse the microfiber cloth and wipe it over the leather to remove all soap residue and any remaining dust.
For a stubborn stain, use a piece of crepe rubber like an eraser to lift or lighten it. Keep in mind that the more you polish your leather with the leather care balm, the less stains will set into it.
If a liquid spills onto your leather, blot it up as quickly as possible, then clean the leather as soon as you can. Finally, polish the leather the following day.

In our workshop, we have chosen to work exclusively with leather known as “full grain” for all our designs. Unlike split leather, which is taken from the dermis, full-grain leather comes from the epidermis—the strongest part of the hide—and reflects the animal’s life.
Some “imperfections” will therefore be visible, such as wrinkles, moles, stretch marks, scars, scratches, insect bites, etc. Most of the time, these marks are merely superficial cosmetic imperfections and do not affect the leather’s strength in any way. Since leather is itself a by-product of livestock farming, and in the interest of environmental responsibility, we deliberately work with hides bearing some of these marks. Likewise, to minimize offcuts when cutting, we retain certain natural imperfections when they are purely cosmetic.
Color and patina:
Turquoise is a color that can react to sunlight. Like blue jeans, blue dye can fade. As a precaution, while your first applications of polish and the first few months of use allow the leather to develop a sufficiently protective patina, avoid exposing it to the sun for extended periods.
This leather’s patina will develop slowly and gradually, which is the best way to achieve the most beautiful patina. It will reflect you, your everyday life, and the way you relate to your belongings.
